LAUSANNE, Switzerland — The Young Hoteliers Summit (YHS), the largest student-run hospitality summit worldwide, will be held virtually from Mar. 7 to 9, 2022.

This year’s theme is “Breaking Through the Tide,” with a focus on how individuals, companies and governmental bodies have had to re-think their businesses amid waves of economic, social and environmental challenges related to COVID-19.

Four panels will guide attendees through the following topics:

  • The Future of You will dive into the concept of B-Leisure and how humanity had to re-think the concept of the static workforce;
  • Re-constructing Leadership, a manager’s roundtable, will analyze how leaders can help navigate a crisis while tackling pertinent problems;
  • Before Breaking Ground will focus on destination management and how it’s impacted by political implications, infrastructures, environmental studies and accessibility;
  • The Only Way Forward will showcase how trailblazers in the industry are re-inventing themselves for a better future

In addition, Marriott International will be the YHS’s Challenge Provider for this year’s edition. The company will conduct a practical scenario that the student delegates will have to solve in randomly selected teams to engage in cross-cultural thinking and push innovation.
