HUNT’S POINT, N.S. — White Point Beach Resort, of Hunt’s Point, N.S., has earned the top National Award for Excellence in Tourism Human Resource (HR) Development.

“The award recognizes a business that has demonstrated a commitment to professionalism in the Canadian tourism workforce through professional recognition, training and excellence in human-resource management,” said Wendy Swedlove, president, Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council, upon presenting the award.

The year-round oceanfront beach vacation destination, which opened in 1928, has a comprehensive HR program, which includes staff recognition, student scholarships and placements as well as professional development and training opportunities. White Point is one of only four hotels in Canada to have received ISO 9001:2008 Certification, which is awarded to service industry businesses that demonstrate an exceptional commitment to training and responsible human-resource management.
