VANCOUVER — The Fairmont Vancouver Airport has been named the No.1 airport hotel in North America and the No.5 airport hotel in the world for the eighth-consecutive year at the annual Skytrax World Airport Awards.

The World Airport Awards are the most prestigious accolades for the airport industry and based on more than 13 million questionnaires completed across 100 nationalities of airline passengers at 550 airports over a six-month period. The Airport Hotel Awards rate overall hotel experience, access from the airport to the hotel, friendliness of hotel staff, cleanliness, in-room amenities, fitness and spa facilities, quality of food and restaurant service and value for money.

In the Vancouver International Airport, the luxury hotel’s latest innovations include its Fit on the Flu Suite, featuring a Peloton, FITBENCH ONE, yoga matt and self-guided Nordic hydrotherapy experience. Day pass rates for the hotel’s health club with a full-service gym and pool are also available to travellers with extended layovers. Additionally, the hotel offers a wellness enhancement package that can be added to any reservation, which includes a yoga mat, personal diffusers and essential oils, family-friendly activities and a six-passenger golf cart to shuttle guests from the hotel to airline check-ins.

Award-winning Pacific Northwest cuisine is featured in the hotel’s Globe@YVR restaurant, Jetside Lounge and in-room dining. The hotel also boasts a full-service day spa, health club and meeting facilities with more than 8,800 sq. ft. of space.

“This award is a true honour and we dedicate it to our entire team who continue to deliver extraordinary experiences for our guests and colleagues every day,” says Randall Williams, general manager of Fairmont Vancouver Airport. “We are thrilled to be recognized once again amongst the top hotels in the world.”
