WINNIPEG — Winnipeg’s James Armstrong Richardson International Airport is set to become the home of the city’s first Courtyard by Marriott.

“We are excited to expand in the robust Manitoba market,” said Manlio Marescotti, vice-president, Lodging Development for Marriott Hotels & Resorts. “The Courtyard brand fits perfectly with the demographics of the region and offers guest amenities specially suited for both business and leisure stays.”

The six-storey property, which will be owned and built by Brock Hotels and Belmont Equity Partners Inc., will be located on the eastern side of the airport, within walking distance of the new terminal building. Construction is set to begin in 2013, and the hotel is expected to open in spring 2014.
