OSOYOOS, B.C. — Ryan Duffy is the new director of Sales and Marketing at the Watermark Beach Resort. With more than 25 years of experience in operations, advertising, marketing and sales under his belt, and serving as the current South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce president, Duffy is well-suited for his new role.
Hailing from northern Ontario, Duffy’s career began in the hotel industry at a young age. He held a variety of roles in food and beverage, sales, marketing and leadership. While his roots were in hospitality, Duffy’s career took him into real estate, where he had the opportunity to further hone his skills as an award-winning realtor before joining the management teams as a managing broker and finally as an area manager in central Toronto. During the pandemic, Duffy and his partner took the opportunity to re-set and move to the south Okanagan, B.C.
“Our move to the Okanagan started with a Google search to find the warmest and driest part of Canada. We’ve travelled extensively but somehow never visited the south Okanagan. We came here for seven days, and we just fell in love with the region. Osoyoos certainly earns its place as Canada’s warmest welcome,” says Duffy. “I love working in hospitality and tourism, and I can’t think of a better place to do it. Between my role as the president of the South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce, and my new position at Watermark Beach Resort and 15 Park Bistro, I see so many opportunities to build long-lasting connections and partnerships.”
