CALGARY — Travelodge and Thriftlodge Canada employees recently gathered for the hotel brand’s annual Canadian conference where Steven Robinson, Travelodge Canada president, reviewed the company’s 2011 strategy to a record crowd of 140 delegates.

Conference delegates donned white cowboy hats at a country-and-western-themed reception and were sworn in as honorary Calgarians before Robinson discussed victories of the past year. Highlights included the launch of Travelodge.ca and the company’s mobile websites, the introduction of its new Facebook page and a partnership with the Gemini–award nominated Eager Brothers’ Great Canadian Adventure Tour. Next year the company plans to introduce a top-of-bed standard and enhanced breakfast offering.

Attendees had access to a variety of training seminars on topics such as social media and increasing revenue and online opportunities with Google and Expedia.
