TORONTO — Evangeline, an all-season bar and lounge, has opened atop of the Ace Hotel Toronto.

The 80-seat lounge, designed by Shim-Sutcliffe Architects with interiors by Atelier Ace, is spread across a cozy indoor area framed by two fireplaces and a sprawling outdoor patio. Montreal-based artist David Umemoto created sculptural ceramic works specifically for the space and Toronto design studio MSDS custom-crafted light fixtures. Chef-partner Patrick Kris helms Evangeline’s menu of snacks and small plates. Charcuterie, chips & dip, ‘nduja-stuffed olives with halloumi, shrimp cocktail and freshly shucked oysters are among the offerings, in addition to craft cocktails, such as the Hummingbird, Punch Lafitte, Meiji Restoration and the non-alcoholic Good Vibes Only.

Evangeline is open Wednesday to Sunday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., with food service available until 12 a.m.
