MONTREAL — The MTLHC (Most Talented Leaders Hospitality Challenge) has unveiled the details of its annual competition where hospitality-management schools from around the world send their teams to Montreal to compete for the title of the most talented leader in the hospitality industry.

The semi-final took place virtually on November 1, with the participation of five international hotel schools. Each institution sent their most promising team to compete in a series of challenges, designed to test the management skills, creativity and passion of the future leaders in hospitality.

The grand final of the MTLHC will be held at the Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec (ITHQ) on November 25. This three-day event will showcase the finalist teams who have managed to surpass their competitors and impress the judges during the semi-finals. Participants will engage in an intense competition, demonstrating their expertise in areas such as hotel management, catering, customer service and innovation in the hospitality industry.

The teams will have the opportunity to showcase their skills before a panel of judges composed of leaders in the hospitality industry including Caroline Ouellette, director of Sales and Marketing at Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu; Karim Ikrimah, general manager of Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu; Christina Poon, general manager at Hotel W New York-Union Square; Daniel Gallant, vice-president at Épik Collection and president chez Iceberg Consultants; David Connor, RVP-Eastern Canada Accor Hospitality and general manager at Fairmont Le Reine Élizabeth; Vincent Lafrenaye Lamontagne, director of Entrepreneurship and Open Innovation at MTLAB; Ghani Kolli, partner & strategic designer at Credo; and Olena Zamkova, director of Innovation and Experience Design at Épik Collection.

This year, the MTLHC has welcomed participants from Asia, Europe, Africa and North America, further cementing its status as a major international competition in the field of hospitality. Hotel schools for this third edition include Ferrandi in Paris, ITHQ, Stenden University South Africa, Taylor’s University in Malaysia and Vatel Rwanda.
