ATLANTA — InterContinental Hotels Group is beefing up its security offerings to address the demand for better traveller safety practices in areas prone to natural disasters, political or social unrest. It also premiered a new streamlined approach to meetings to cater to the pharmaceutical, automotive, energy, technology, medical healthcare and manufacturing industries.
As part of a new initiative, dubbed IHG Assist, the hotels will offer security consultations between a corporate client’s security team member or travel manager, and a member of IHG’s global security team to address risk-assessment concerns and security queries. Corporate clients will be offered access to information about their employees’ location during times of crisis and emergencies, as well as a 24-7 phone line to answer client concerns regarding traveller safety and security.
Meanwhile, with IHG’s Meeting Point program, employees will learn, from a training portal, to develop industry-specific knowledge to better cater to the needs of clients so they can adhere to industry-specific regulations, safety and security issues.
“IHG Assist answers the increasing concern for traveller safety and security and IHG Meeting Point enables us to offer the right meeting space at the right hotel, with an unparalleled level of service and sector-specific expertise. These industry-leading initiatives help build more trust and loyalty with our business guests,” said Ingrid Quimby High, director, Global Groups & Meetings Strategy, IHG.
