CHICAGO — A Hyatt affiliate has entered into franchise agreements with 1335117 Alberta Ltd. — an affiliate of Lighthouse Hospitality Management, which will manage the hotels — for a dual-branded Hyatt Place and Hyatt House project in Edmonton.
Expected to open in mid-2020, these hotels — totaling 249 rooms — will be centrally located on the site of an existing 24-storey office building at the corner of Jasper Avenue and 102 Street.
“This dual-branded Hyatt Place and Hyatt House project will be a great example of our continued focus on growing premium hotels that will attract business and leisure travellers alike,” says Scott Richer, Hyatt’s regional vice-president of Development for Canada. “We’re thrilled to work with Lighthouse Hospitality Management and confident the appeal and convenience of these two hotels will meet the needs of guests visiting Edmonton.”
Hyatt values its relationship with Lighthouse Hospitality Management, which opened Hyatt Place Edmonton-West in 2017.
“This new dual-branded project will be a first-class addition to our existing hotel and development portfolio in Edmonton. We’re pleased to team up with Hyatt to develop the first dual-branded Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotels in Alberta,” says Paul Aulakh, president of Lighthouse Hospitality Management.
