TORONTO — Ken Gruber, director of Marketing for the Chelsea Hotel in Toronto, is wearing a new hat as the chair of the Board of Directors for the Downtown Yonge Business Improvement Area (BIA), working to create a culture of improvement in downtown Toronto.

Gruber has served as an executive member of the Board as well as a member of the marketing committee during the past 10 years. The Chelsea Hotel and its former iteration, the Delta Chelsea, has also been an active member of the Downtown Yonge BIA for nearly 20 years.

The Downtown Yonge BIA, which comprises an area between Grosvenor Street. and Richmond Street West, is a non-profit organization that creates local events, capital improvements and promotes the neighbourhood through marketing initiatives. It includes 600 retail stores, 150 foodservice establishments, eight hotels, four theatres and the Yonge-Dundas Square.
