SEVERN BRIDGE, Ont. — The Ascend Hotel Collection has opened a new property in Ontario’s picturesque Muskoka region. Nestled on the shores of Sparrow Lake, The Bayview Wildwood Resort is a full-service four-seasons resort catering to families, couples, corporate retreats, conferences, meetings and special events such as weddings, reunions and receptions.

The Bayview Wildwood Resort is the 16th property in Choice Hotels Canada’s Ascend Hotel Collection. The resort offers families an “all-inclusive” stay, including meals and accommodation. Package options include the “Girls Weekend,” as well as partnering with local operators for specialty weekend packages, such as golf and fishing. Catering to business clientele as well, the resort provides a variety of corporate meeting-package options.

The resort offers varied accommodations, including suites, rooms and cottages with full kitchens. The guestrooms include free Wi-Fi, microwaves and refrigerators and 42-inch flat-screen TVs. Select rooms have private lake-view balconies and separate living and sleeping areas.

“We’re excited to add a second Ascend Hotel Collection resort in Muskoka. The Bayview Wildwood Resort is known for offering a quintessential Canadian experience,” says Rob Alldred, director of Membership Development, Ascend Hotel Collection at Choice Hotels Canada. “Through our relationship with our valued franchise partner, Sunray Group, we continue to broaden our Ascend Hotel Collection portfolio in Canada, offering even more options for our more than two million Canadian Choice Privileges members.”

Onsite amenities include a dining room with lake views —The Echo Dining Lounge — which is also open to the public. It offers casual dining with an exceptional selection of domestic and imported wines, along with custom cocktails. In the morning, guests can also enjoy a daily hot breakfast buffet. Corporate travellers are well-equipped with access to a business conference centre with meeting rooms and banquet space.

“Sunray Group has always enjoyed a close relationship with Choice Hotels Canada and we have 10 hotels in its system,” says Kenny Gibson, president of Sunray Group. “We’ve had great success with the Ascend Hotel Collection and we look forward to working on more resorts in the future.”

Hotel activities include badminton, bicycle rentals, billiards, kayaking and canoeing, tennis, cross-country skiing, shuffleboard, volleyball and a sandy beach with waterpark. In addition, there are two pools — indoor and outdoor — and a fitness room.
