VAUGHAN, Ont. — After four years of planning and developing, the first Aloft hotel has arrived in Ontario.
The 131-property, located in Vaughan, Ont., across from the Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre, was previewed to special guests and media yesterday, before it opens for business next week.
“An effort like this takes years in the making,” said Vinnie Patel, president of Northampton, and co-owner of the property. Patel, thanked staff for the energy they’ve harnessed leading to the opening. “Now we can barrel forward and do some good occupancy and numbers,” he quipped.
Sporting a cool, fun vibe that is meant to appeal to the 35-plus group, the hotel is billed as a fresh and fun destination featuring loft-inspired design, and “free-flowing energy” evidenced by its no-walls, no-limits space. It’s part of providing guests with a new travel experience. Guests can meet and mingle in an interactive lobby that features a the W XYZ bar, 24/7 terminals for business services, A-list local guides and a pool table. The hotel also has a fitness space called Re:Charge and a splash area with a pool.
Owned by Vinnie Patel and Deepak Rupparell, of Silver Hotels, Aloft is part of the Starwood group of hotels. There are 60 Aloft hotels worldwide.
