CHICAGO, Ill. — On March 1, 2017, Hyatt Hotels Corporation is launching its all-new global loyalty program. World of Hyatt aims to build community and engage with high-end travellers.

“At Hyatt, we are in the business of caring for people so they can be their best,” says Mark Hoplamazian, president and CEO, Hyatt Hotels Corporation. “Inspired by our purpose, World of Hyatt is about celebrating our members by understanding the people, places and experiences at the heart of their world. The more we understand them, the better we can care for them and design unique experiences with them in mind.”

The World of Hyatt program consists of three tiers — Discoverist, Explorist and Globalist. Members will receive more points as they progress through the three tiers, based on qualifying nights or base points. Base points count toward tier status and may also be used for dining and spa experiences. A free night is awarded to members for staying at five different Hyatt brands. Elite members will also enjoy suite upgrades at the time of booking.

“We built World of Hyatt on insights we learned from our guests, identifying more opportunities to increase our engagement with members across our portfolio,” says Jeff Zidell, SVP, Hyatt. “The program will deliver on exactly what our members want — a broader range of benefits and more attainable rewards to experience with the most important people in their lives.”

For members of Hyatt’s existing Gold Passport program, the transition will be seamless; current Gold Passport memberships will remain in effect until Feb. 28, 2017, at which time they will transition to a World of Hyatt membership. Hyatt will be communicating directly with Gold Passport members about new membership tiers by March 1, 2017. The hotel chain also promises to provide further details in the coming days.
