MONTREAL — Celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson’s MARCUS restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Montreal received the Design-of-the-Year Award from Eater Montreal’s 2019 Eater Awards.

Designed by Atelier Zébulon Perron, the restaurant has also been nominated for the 2019 Surface Travel Award for best restaurant design in a hotel or resort.

MARCUS lounge, bar, restaurant and terrace are designed as four distinct, immersive worlds that overlap and complement each other, while each seamlessly blending into Four Seasons Hotel Montreal’s contemporary architecture. In a reference to chef Samuelsson’s seafood creations, the restaurant and terrace suggest a theme reminiscent of the ocean. The restaurant’s design combines opposites, balancing elegance and warmth with minimalism and modernity.
