MONTREAL — Germain Hotels recently reopened its Le Germain Hotel Montreal, following a year of extensive renovations and an investment of more than $30 million.

From the hotel rooms to the lobby, restaurant and meeting spaces, Le Germain Hotel Montreal has been reimagined from top to bottom. In addition, six new floors were added to the top of the building, increasing the number of rooms from 101 to 136.

Opened in 1999, the hotel on Mansfield Street was originally constructed in 1967 — a landmark year for Montreal. Montreal-based architectural firm LEMAYMICHAUD drew inspiration from this history when transforming the property, creating a design inspired by the 60s, yet with a decidedly modern flair — featuring curved lines and molded plastic juxtaposed with softer accents of wood.

New suites were designed in the same spirit, including a fully equipped apartment suite located on the 18th floor, boasting a terrace offering a panorama of downtown Montreal. The new floors also include a fitness centre with views of the city and the latest equipment, including intelligent stationary bikes and the “Mirror” training mirror — a state-of-the-art amenity that enables personalized interactive training.

The transformed hotel now offers three meeting and event spaces, including a creative lounge with a Samsung Flip digital board — ideal for informal meetings.

The hotel also features new food-and-beverage outlets Le Boulevardier Restaurant and Flâneur Bar Lounge. At Le Boulevardier restaurant, renowned chef David Pellizzari offers a menu inspired by Parisian brasseries. And, located in the lobby, Flâneur Bar Lounge offers coffee, bubbles and oysters.

Germain Hotels has also released a web series offering a behind-the-scenes look at Le Germain Hotel Montreal’s transformation process.
