TORONTO — InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened the new-build 111-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites Terrace hotel in Thornhill, B.C., following a $13-million investment by ownership. This is the first Holiday Inn Express property and the only IHG property in the Thornhill area.

“Holiday Inn Express is one of the most widely recognized lodging brands in the world and we’re excited to welcome this hotel into our family,” says Jennifer Gribble, VP, Holiday Inn Express Brand, IHG. “The Holiday Inn Express brand continues to grow across the Canadian market, delivering a special kind of hospitality and a simple, comfortable stay that our guests appreciate.”

The new property features an indoor pool, 24-hour fitness centre, 24-hour business centre and 336-sq.-ft. of meeting space. Guestrooms feature 49-inch LCD TVs, contemporary styling, comfortable queen, king-sized or two queen beds, a sitting area with a lounge chair and an in-room coffee machine.

The complimentary Express Start breakfast bar offers a full range of healthy breakfast items, including yogurt, English muffins, cereals, oatmeal, fruit and pancakes. Additionally, the breakfast bar offers a rotation of egg and meat selections, biscuits, the brand’s proprietary cinnamon roll and Smart Roast coffee.

“The Terrace location is a great fit for the Holiday Inn Express brand due to its scenic views facing the Turquoise Mountain and two-minute walk to the spectacular Skeena River — home to the ultimate fly fishing playground,” says Sam Kim, GM, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Terrace.
