NEW YORK — Forbes has released its annual list of cheap places to travel for the coming year. The list — based on the input of influencers and travel experts — features 38 destinations for travellers on a budget, including two Canadian cities.
Montreal and Saskatoon are both featured on the 2019 list. Montreal is recognized for the quality and affordability of its culinary offerings; its range of festivals offering free activities; and the range of affordable accommodations. Saskatoon’s new Remai Modern museum, “booming” restaurant scene and craft spirit offerings are cited as key reasons the city makes an affordable, off-the-beaten-path getaway.
Other destinations featured on the list include Lima, Peru; Flagstaff, Ariz.; Panama City, Panama; and Cairo, Egypt. The complete list is available at forbes.com.
