CLEVELAND — Canada’s Best Value Inn has joined other hotel brands, including Starwood and Motel 6, in launching an iPhone app for travellers to find and book a hotel using a smartphone.

“We want to make it as simple and convenient as possible for consumers to do business with us. Research shows that one in five travellers in 2014 will book on their smartphone or tablet, and most of those will select a hotel within 20 miles of their current location. Between the new app and our mobile website, ABVI is well-positioned to make sure that customers find it easy to shop and book at its hotels,” said John Burkard, VP of Distribution and Technology for Vantage Hospitality Group, which is the parent company of Americas Best Value Inn and Lexington by Vantage.

The new app helps travellers find the nearest hotel to their current location, book a room and get directions to the hotel. In addition, the app lets potential guests view hotel information, amenities, accommodations, photo galleries and more.

The company is planning to release an Android version of the app through Google Play later this summer.
