PHOENIX — Best Western International is using the power of social media for its inaugural Best Western Fan Awards. The company is encouraging guests to cast votes recognizing their favourites among the company’s portfolio of more than 4,000 hotels around the world.

“This is a chance for us to showcase some wonderful Best Western experiences in different countries,” said David Kong, Best Western’s president and CEO. “Our guests are the most important part of our business, so we wanted to give them a voice in which hotels deserve the winning titles.”

Votes can be cast once a day on the company’s Facebook page until Sept. 16. Travellers can vote for one of five finalist hotels, including the most unique hotel, most historic hotel, most beautiful hotel setting, best view from a hotel room, most impressive lobby, most impressive guestroom and most unique guestroom.

The finalist hotels were selected by a panel of industry experts and range from the guestrooms overlooking the scenic Amalfi Coast at the Best Western Hotel Marmorata in Ravello, Italy to the Best Western Premier Vedic Village Spa Resort in West Bengal, India to the Best Western Plus Lamplighter Inn & Conference Centre in London, Ont. (pictured).

Best Western will reward a Best Western Rewards Member (at random), with a trip to one of the award-winning hotels. Winners of the Best Western Fan Awards will be announced on Facebook after the voting period ends.
