NEW YORK —The 2019 Fortune 100 Best Companies To Work For has been released, revealing five hotel companies among the top employers in the U.S.

The list is compiled annually by Fortune and global research and consulting firm Great Place to Work, with results based on survey responses from employees who rate their workplace culture on 50-plus elements. These include trust in managers, compensation, fairness, camaraderie and workplace traits linked to innovation.

Hilton took top honours on this year’s list, with 96 per cent of its employees rating it as a great place to work. This number-1 ranking marks meteoric a rise from Hiltons 33rd-place in the 2018 list, as well as the first time a hospitality company has achieved first-place on the list.

“We are in a people business — a business that relies upon the talent and passion of our team to deliver incredible experiences to our guests,” says Christopher J. Nassetta, president & CEO of Hilton. “We do this through our relentless focus on creating an exceptional workplace culture for all and we are grateful for this meaningful recognition during our milestone 100th year.”

Also ranking within the top-10 companies, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants claimed fifth position on the list — marking the company’s 10th year on the Fortune 100 Best Companies To Work For list and its highest placement to date.

Ranking 31st and 32nd respectively, were Marriott International and Hyatt Hotels Corporation, followed by Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, which ranked 89th on the list.

“The 2019 100 Best are the leaders in creating the most innovative workplaces built on trust,” says Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “Employees at these organizations feel valued, respected and heard and are inspired to be their best selves because of the commitment these winning companies have made to creating a great workplace for all employees, no matter who they are or what they do for the company.”
