TORONTO — Fairmont Hotels & Resorts will be opening its first property in Japan, Fairmont Tokyo, on Jul. 1, 2025. The hotel began accepting reservations on Tuesday.
Fairmont Tokyo is situated in the Shibaura district, a historic gathering place since the Edo period. The property boasts views of the Tokyo Bay and the Tokyo Tower.
With five restaurants and two bars, guests can enjoy bold flavours and artisanal cocktails. Venues include a brasserie serving wood-fired pizzas, meats and seafood; a lobby lounge which melds French and Japanese café culture; and artfully designed spaces serving traditional Japanese styles of cuisine, such as sushi and teppanyaki. The new Fairmont Spa and Health Club features a free weights section, two studios, an indoor infinity pool along, a lounge on the outdoor sundeck by the relaxation pool and saunas, as well as signature spa treatments inspired by the destination.
Upon opening, Fairmont Tokyo will offer 217 guestrooms ranging from 52 to 278 sq. m., situated from the 36th to 42nd floors. Designed by BAR Studio, the guestrooms feature warm-hued sen wood, quartzite stone and refined brass accents. Seating areas, inspired by the traditional Japanese Engawa, create a transitory space between the interior and exterior. Bathrooms use natural stone textures alongside Le Labo bath products.
Additionally, Fairmont Tokyo will offer an elevated experience with Fairmont’s exclusive hotel-within-a-hotel, Fairmont Gold. Special benefits include private check-in and lounge, distinctive style and design elements and signature amenities, such as complimentary breakfast, afternoon canapes and evening cocktails. The hotel boasts 29 suites, including the View Suite, Shibaura Suite and Presidential Suite.
The Fairmont Grand Ballroom can accommodate up to 1,200 guests, making it one of the largest in Tokyo. For more intimate events, The Sea on the 43rd floor features and open-kitchen concept and 120-inch video screens. Also located on the 43rd floor, The Sky, bathed in natural light with panoramic views and a pre-function area that extends onto a terrace, is a setting for guest nuptials.
