MINNETONKA, Minn. — Minnesota’s Carlson Rezidor hotel group has appointed Wolfgang Neumann as its new president and CEO, effective Jan. 1.

Neumann, who is currently EVP and COO, will replace Kurt Ritter, president and CEO since 1989. Ritter is retiring at the end of the year.

“We are pleased to announce the planned transition of Wolfgang M. Neumann as incoming president and CEO. He is an internationally experienced hotelier who will build on Rezidor’s strengths as an industry leader and valuable member of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group — with a continued focus on revenue generation and profitable growth,” said Trudy Rautio, chairman of Rezidor’s Board of Directors and president and CEO of Carlson.

Ritter will continue to assist Neumann as an advisor during a three-month transition period and will continue to serve as key strategic advisor to Rautio onwards.
