WEYBURN, Sask. — Community members and dignitaries gathered in Weyburn, Sask., recently to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Microtel Weyburn.

Located at Grace Street and Highway 39, the hotel will feature contemporary designed rooms outfitted with DreamWell beds. It will also offer complimentary hot breakfast, coffee, wireless high-speed Internet, weekday newspapers, a fitness centre, a hot tub and a business centre.

“We are proud to have a globally recognized brand like Microtel by Wyndham select the City of Weyburn. By adding another 20 quality full-time jobs, the hotel will be another great contribution to our rapidly growing economy. The addition of 84 rooms will also be a great asset for our community to attract additional events, investment and visitors,” said Jeff Richards, manager of the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce.

The hotel’s GM, Andrew Arksey, has returned home from various hospitality leadership jobs in Manitoba and Ontario, and will run the hotel when it opens in January.

There are two other Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Canada, both in Ontario.
