CLEVELAND, Ohio — Vantage Hospitality Group Inc. (VHG) is nearing the completion of two major hotel overhauls in Sudbury, Ont.

The Howard Johnson has been rebranded as a 77-room Lexington Hotel following a complete renovation of its flooring, bathrooms, furniture, bedding and wall coverings. The main lobby will also undergo a major redesign. Vantage cycled the renovations throughout the hotel to accommodate guests.

“It was time for something different,” says Shelley Peever, general manager of the Lexington Hotel. “We have a great building in a great location, but we wanted to take this hotel in a different direction and Lexington offered us the perfect opportunity to make the changes we know are important to our guests, and that will positively impact the community and our bottom line.”

The 45-room Cardinal Motor Inn on Regent St. will reopen as Canadas Best Value Inn by the end of the month. Changes to the building’s exterior and guestrooms, as well as a new lobby and breakfast area, were the focus of the upgrade.
