PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Wyndham Hotel Group has opened its first hotel in Panama, as the company expands into the Latin market.

The 92-room Tryp by Wyndham Panama Centro is located in Panama City. “Panama City is growing by leaps and bounds, and it’s imperative to be a key player in this thriving market,” said Daniel del Olmo, Wyndham Hotel Group’s managing director of Latin America and senior vice-president of Tryp by Wyndham.

Guestrooms at the new property feature contemporary furnishings, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and coffee makers. The hotel’s restaurant, Gastro Bar at 507, serves a premium breakfast, a selection of wines and cocktails and boasts a tapas-style menu inspired by local and international flavours. The hotel also features a fitness area, a full-service business centre and 2,300 square feet of meeting place.

The hotel increases Tryp by Wyndham’s portfolio in Latin America, with 14 hotels located throughout Costa Rica, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Uruguay. The new hotel is owned by Inversiones Casaldeporto S.A., and is the first hotel in the region managed by Wyndham Hotel Management, Inc., the executive branch of Wyndham Hotel Group.
