NEWTON, Mass. — TripAdvisor has announced the winners of its 2014 Travellers’ Choice awards for hotels, and Toronto’s Trump Hotel received the only nod in the country.
“We’re excited to recognize the world’s best properties, based on the opinions of those who know them best — the millions of travellers around the globe who come to TripAdvisor to share their experiences,” said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor.
In total, 7,123 unique properties worldwide won awards in 2014. Italy featured the most unique hotel winners with 152, the U.K. had 145 properties recognized and the U.S. and France each featured 144 award winners.
Toronto’s Trump Hotel was listed among the Top 10 Hotels in the World. It was fêted alongside the top three on list, which included Grand Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina, Switzerland; The Upper House in Hong Kong and Gili Lankanfushi Maldives in Lankanfushi, Maldives.
The awards also identified the best luxury hotel in the world and in the U.S., the best bargain hotel in the world and the U.S., the best family hotel in the world and in the U.S. and the best romantic hotel in the world and in the U.S. For the complete list, visit multivu.com.
