CALGARY, AB Royal Host and Travelodge Canada are pleased to announce the appointment of Julie McDonald to the position of Director, Operations & Support for Travelodge Canada. 

McDonald will oversee a team of three managers and will work closely with corporate and independently owned Travelodge and Thriftlodge properties in Canada to maximize revenues, optimize yield management and assist with overall hotel operations. 

With over 25 years in the hospitality industry, McDonald brings a wealth of experience to her new position which will be based in the Travelodge Canada Corporate offices in Calgary.  For the past two years she has held the position of General Manager for the Holiday Inn Oakville Centre in Ontario, and was awarded the Full Service General Manager of the Year by the Crescent Hotels & Resorts in 2011.  Previously McDonald was a Regional Director for Royal Host, the parent company of Travelodge Canada where her portfolio included overseeing the operation of six properties in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
