VANCOUVER — The Tourism Vancouver Visitor Centre has received Skål Canada – Vancouver’s 2016 Bill Rowe Memorial Tourism Award for its role in contributing to the success and growth of tourism in Vancouver and B.C.

The Skål Canada – Vancouver, Bill Rowe Memorial Tourism Award recognizes leaders, organizations and programs in the travel and tourism industry. It is awarded annually to an individual, company or organization that has notably enhanced the development of tourism over an extended period of time and has contributed to the ethical values that are common to humanity.

The team at the Visitor Centre provide all guests to the city looking for a place to stay, a local activity or wonderful place to eat the information to create their memorable experiences. In addition to the flagship Centre there are two satellite Visitor Centers; one utilized during city-wide conventions and the other a satellite location inside the Vancouver Convention Centre. During the summer months, Tourism Vancouver also deploys a team of more than 200 volunteer City Hosts, who are positioned in key pedestrian corridors along the Waterfront area to assist travellers on the streets of Vancouver. In addition to face-to-face assistance, the team also provides visitor information via phone, email and online platforms.
