KAMLOOPS, B.C. — The Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association has announced the speaker lineup and Master Class activities at the upcoming Thompson Okanagan Tourism Summit: Biospherology Master Class on Feb. 21 and 22 at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) in Kamloops, B.C.

The speaker lineup includes Kúkpi7 Rosanne Casimir of the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc, who will speak about their community’s journey through the discovery of the remains of 215 children at the Kamloops Residential School; Angus Cockney, a residential school survivor who will inspire survivors to feed their destiny and not feed their history; and Sonja Gaudet, who is a wheelchair curlier with three Paralympic gold medals and is a Canadian Curling Hall of Fame and BC Sports Hall of Fame inductee. 

Additionally, the three interactive Master Classes include Build it Better, led by James Gordon from TRU’s Environmental Programs and Research; Another Perspective: Accessibility Immersive, led by Sonja Gaudet; and The Trash Buffet, where attendees will learn less wasteful approaches to cooking and eating habits both at work and at home.
