TORONTO — Val Levitan has resigned from his post as president and CEO of Talon International Development Inc., the real-estate development company behind the Trump International Hotel and Tower Toronto, according to The Star.

“It’s an amicable separation,” Levitan told The Star. “I’m burned out.” It’s been 11 years of getting the hotel project running. “I’m pulling back, and I’m making myself available upon request. I’m excited. This was a great change. Everybody’s happy, and it’s fantastic.”

Neil Labatte, a former Fairmont Hotels & Resorts acquisitions executive, is reportedly taking over as president. He was previously CEO of Legacy Hotels REIT, and principal of Global Dimension Capital, a Toronto-based advisory firm. []
