TORONTO — George Sovatzis has been appointed as general manager at The Drake Hotel.
Sovatzis brings 24 years of experience to his new role, where he will continue to guide and direct The Drake family and its long-standing commitment to art and culture alongside community engagement and world-class hospitality.

Over the last five years, he re-engaged operationally as the general manager, heading operations for a prominent Toronto hotel group, leading his teams through property renovations and brand development, as well as overseeing restaurant spaces. “When I think of The Drake Hotel, what comes to mind is an innovative, entrepreneurial, best-in-class property that creates an inspiring and inclusive hospitality-driven experience for all,” says Sovatzis. “When it came to change, I really wanted to align myself within a dynamic work culture that synched well with my values and personal growth.”
