TORONTO — George Sovatzis has been appointed as general manager at The Drake Hotel.

Sovatzis brings 24 years of experience to his new role, where he will continue to guide and direct The Drake family and its long-standing commitment to art and culture alongside community engagement and world-class hospitality.

Early on in his career, Sovatzis honed his craft within operations while holding various leadership roles in front office and housekeeping, and eventually moved into sales and revenue management. Over the last five years, he re-engaged operationally as the general manager, heading operations for a prominent Toronto hotel group, leading his teams through property renovations and brand development, as well as overseeing restaurant spaces. He brings a wealth of experience from luxury properties, including The Anndore House, Four Seasons, Shangri-La and Ritz Carlton.
