TORONTO — Sukhdev Toor, president and CEO of Manga Hotels, has received Hilton Worldwide’s 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award for Canada. This award is presented each year to a developer based on the commitment to the quality of projects, impact on local community, significant work in the development arena over a minimum of 20 years and loyalty to the Hilton family of brands.

As the founder of Manga Hotels, Toor owns and operates 21 hotels with 3,836 rooms, comprised of Hilton, Marriott and IHG brands. Over the past three decades, he has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades recognizing him as one of the top hoteliers in Canada. Other notable honours include Intercontinental Hotel Group Canadian Developer of the Year, RBC’s Top 25 Immigrant Award, Chevrolet Ingenuity Award and Hilton Hotels Builder of the Year. Toor currently sits on the DoubleTree Owner Advisory Council and regularly speaks at industry events.

Under his leadership, Manga Hotels was the first organization in Canada to develop, construct and operate a Hampton Inn in 1999. Over the years, Manga Hotels has added more than 2,000 new rooms to the Hilton system and continues to grow. Two new hotels are being developed and are slated to open in 2023, a DoubleTree and Home2Suites by Hilton both in Kingston, Ont.
