TORONTO — Sports-news establishment Sportsnet is opening a sports-themed restaurant in Toronto today.

Located at the Marriott City Centre Hotel — in the space previously occupied by Arriba Restaurant — Sportsnet Grill overlooks the Rogers Centre field, offering a unique setting for sports fans.

“In partnership with the Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel, we’ve created a fun, casual and contemporary space that serves as a perfect downtown destination for sports fans to meet and enjoy watching games all year round,” says Scott Moore, president of Sportsnet & NHL Properties. “It’s a priority for us to continue finding innovative and exciting ways to engage our audiences with the Sportsnet brand by providing not only the content they want, but also experiences in watching that content that they can’t get anywhere else.”

Sportsnet Grill will be open early to late, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. On game days, guests will be able to reserve window seating to ensure optimal views.

The restaurant’s menu features takes on game-day favourites and sports-bar fare, such as chips and dip, featuring bacon, cream-cheese and caramelized-onion dip ($8 for a large); a po boy sandwich with crispy fried shrimp and pineapple-pepper slaw on a Bao bun ($21); Tailgate BBQ Chicken with corn on the cob and potato salad ($29).
