TORONTO — Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) has announced the appointment of Larry Mogelonsky as its Canadian Ambassador. The announcement was made at SLH’s annual Canadian Showcase event held last month at the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto.

“Canada is our third-largest guest-originating market, yet we are critically underrepresented here with only one property,” says Filip Boyen, CEO of SLH. “Our goal is to raise the profile of SLH within the Canadian hotel community and, in the process, increase our membership as well as open the world to a diverse collection of incredible Canadian travel experiences. “

Mogelonsky has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 35 years, primarily in a marketing and consulting capacity for luxury independent properties. An industry pundit, he has written four books on hotel operations and is published weekly in several leading hospitality journals. Often appearing as a keynote speaker at international travel conferences, Mogelonsky has been recognized by the Hotel Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) as one of the 25 Top Minds in Hospitality.

“I am confident the addition of Larry Mogelonsky to our team will help us to meet the needs of Canadian hoteliers, so they can grow their businesses in today’s global market,” adds Boyen. “I’m particularly impressed with Larry’s knowledge outside of his immediate industry experience, both through his career in advertising and marketing as well as through his worldwide travels where he visits and audits 40 or more properties each year.”
