VANCOUVER — SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts is pushing forward with its sustainability initiative, announcing that all 15 of its operated properties have recently been awarded a Green Key designation by the Green Key Eco-Rating Program.

“Reducing our environmental footprint is a commitment that all of us at SilverBirch embrace, so it is gratifying that all of our operating hotels have earned such high ratings under the Green Key Eco-Rating Program,” says Steve Giblin, president and CEO, SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts.

All properties have earned at least four green keys. Five-key-rated properties include the Residence Inn by Marriott Vancouver Downtown in Vancouver, the Red Deer Lodge Hotel and Conference Centre in Red Deer, Alta., and the Hotel des Seigneurs Saint-Hyacinthe in St-Hyacinthe, Que.

The Green Key Eco-Rating program recognizes hotels, motels and resorts for reducing its environmental impacts and operating costs through reduced utility consumption, employee training and supply chain management.
