TORONTO — A re-imagined British gastrobar is set to open Sept. 1, 2021 inside The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto. EPOCH Bar & Kitchen Terrace offers a confluence of casual, yet imaginative, food and cocktails in an understatedly elegant setting with a warm, inviting atmosphere.

The venue boasts 61 seats in the dining-room, as well as 88 additional seats on a terrace set amidst lush foliage and Simcoe Park, with a stunning centrepiece bar and a feature wood-fired stone oven. Guests can sip cocktails at the bar, choose from lounge seating, dining tables or the cozy Green Room with a fireplace and pool table.

Helming the kitchen is chef Jeff Crump, a Canadian slow-food pioneer and founder of Earth to Table: Organic Farm and Earth to Table: Bread Bar. Crump has also authored two cookbooks based on the ‘eat-local’ concept. The EPOCH Bar & Kitchen Terrace menu is a culinary homage to Crump’s earth-to-table philosophy and his roots in the U.K. gastrobar scene at The Fat Duck and The Hind’s Head. Thoughtfully sourced ingredients and an emphasis on seasonality is of paramount importance to his menu concepts. Chef Crump’s cuisine can be described as approachable and seasonally inspired.

“The cuisine at EPOCH Bar & Kitchen Terrace re-imagines traditional British gastrobar dishes with modern flavours,” says Crump. “The ingredients are grown with care and cooked with conviction, ensuring the guest experience is second to none.”

Each expertly crafted cocktail is a nod to the renaissance of mixology culture — the EPOCH menu is a selection of cocktails inspired from the past, while setting future trends. Bar manager, Jason William Griffin is an award-winning bartender and hospitality professional based in Toronto with nearly two decades of experience in the industry.
