FAIRVIEW, P.E.I. — A P.E.I. hotelier says Tourism P.E.I.’s website listed incorrect information about her hotel, costing her thousands, CBC News reports.

Donna Barrett, owner of the West River Countryside Inn and Heritage Farmhouse, told the CBC that incorrect rates and inaccurate operating days were posted on the organization’s revamped site.

“I want this issue brought to the forefront, because I understand there are other operators who are experiencing problems with this new system,” Barrett, who says bookings are down 90 per cent, told the news outlet. “We have lost thousands of dollars of business over this mistake, and I don’t see that there’s very much that we can do about that now.”

Although a Tourism P.E.I. representative told the CBC operators are responsible for checking information, the organization is working on resolving issues related to the website’s new format.
