RICHMOND, B.C. — The Panda Pod Hotel is set to open in Richmond, B.C. in April, according to Tri-City News.
Designed to offer convenient accommodations at affordable rates, the “capsule hotel” features 64 single-occupancy pods, divided into male and female dorms. Stacked two high, the sleeping pods are comprised of a mattress and small wall-mounted side table. The hotel also offers personal lockers and baggage storage with digital locks for securing belongings.
Sharon Cheung, GM of the hotel, says the hotel is the first of its kind in the Vancouver area.
This is the second hotel of its kind in Canada. The Pangea Pod Hotel opened in Whistler, B.C. last summer.
