OTTAWA — Crescent Hotels and Resorts is preparing for a $9-million renovation of the Chimo Hotel, which is being rebranded a Holiday Inn property.

The hotel, which is owned by Royal Host Inc. and located near Ottawa’s city centre, will undergo several refurbishments as it is reflagged, with a goal towards enhancing the guest experience. “We’re thrilled to reinvest in the Ottawa Market,” said Mike Bobbitt, SVP and COO of Royal Host Inc. “We believe the St. Laurent area is a growth area in a city that has great long-term prospects and [one] in which our new Holiday Inn will thrive.”

Consistent with the Holiday Inn flag, the property will offer several amenities, including complimentary high-speed Internet access, a “Kids-Stay-and-Eat-Free” program and a rewards program. Other improvements at the hotel include, fully refreshed guestrooms and bathrooms, a new hotel restaurant and bar, an updated lobby with a 24-hour convenience store and revamped corridors as well as meeting and banquet rooms. Additionally, the pool area and fitness centre will be upgraded.
