TORONTO — The Ontario Tourism Education Corporation (OTEC) has elected new directors for the 2011-12 year.

“This is OTEC’s 20th Anniversary year leading workforce development for the Tourism and Hospitality Industry in Ontario,” said Victoria Behune, OTEC president and CEO. “It is important we have highly experienced leaders on our Board who are dedicated to ensuring OTEC continues to grow and prosper for the future.”

The new appointments include chair, Alister Mathieson, Humber College; past chair, Beatrice Schmied, Schmied Communications; vice-chair, Anne Marshall, Elmhirst’s Resort; industry liaison, Bill Allen, Tourism Industry Association of Ontario and Deputy Minister of Tourism; treasurer, Paul Dinner, formerly of the Royal Bank of Canada; director, David Adames, Hamilton Chamber of Commerce; director, Sheldon Gould, Delmanor Senior Communities Inc.; and director, Joshua Karam, Westin Harbour Castle and Hospitality Human Resource Professionals Association.
