EDMONTON — Family owned Nova Hotels has purchased the 428-room Ramada Edmonton Hotel and Conference Centre on Kingsway in Edmonton, formerly known as the Edmonton Inn. The firm’s president, Aleksa Mrdjenovich, said the family plans to recapture the hotel’s landmark status, according to the Edmonton Journal.

“Nearly every Edmontonian can tell a story about the iconic Edmonton Inn,” said Mrdjenovich, president of Nova Hotels. “We plan to recapture the hotel’s landmark status and make it a major destination once again.”

Nova Hotels now owns 13 properties in Western Canada, including four in Edmonton. There are plans to add another four in northern Alberta and one in Yellowknife. [edmontonjournal.com]
