TORONTO — NYC & Company and Tourism Toronto have formed a two-year alliance to help boost tourism to their cities, reports Travel Weekly.

The partnership is the first city-to-city partnership for Tourism Toronto and the first Canadian partnership for NYC & Company.

Fred Dixon, NYC & Company president and CEO, says New York City and Toronto are cities that embrace diversity with a strong multicultural dynamism, and that both cities are hubs for global travel.

Under the agreement, the destination marketing organizations will collaborate and share best practices. Both cities will exchange US$500,000 in marketing and advertising assets to help promote the other destination. Starting on Oct. 23, bus-shelter advertisements in New York will promote Toronto. New York City advertisements, in media and on the radio, will be featured in Toronto starting in late November and running through February.
