TORONTO — New details have been released for the development project, dubbed Regal Plaza, at 600 Dixon Road in Toronto — the current site of the Holiday Inn Toronto Airport East.
The project, by SAMM Developments, will see a new 11-storey hotel and commercial building constructed, with an entranceway connecting the new building to the existing Holiday Inn. This atrium will feature high ceilings, skylights and an open atmosphere. It will house an informal hotel lobby and registration area, as well as a breakfast area and lounge.
Levels five through 11 will house a 200-room Staybridge Suites. More than half of the rooms at the extended-stay hotel will feature small kitchenettes and the penthouse will include a banquet hall with large skylights.
The new building will also feature a two-level underground parking garage and a ground-floor restaurant with direct access. It will also be built to meet the City of Toronto’s Tier-1 Green Standard.
