ST. ANDREWS, N.B. — Matthew Mackenzie has been named GM of the Algonquin Resort in St. Andrews, N.B. He previously served as GM for the Keltic Lodge Resort and Spa in Ingonish Beach, N.S.

“The Algonquin is a magnificently renovated, landmark hotel that is a natural fit with Matthew’s passion for one-of-a-kind resorts and the experiences they offer,” said Gerry Chase, president, CEO, Shelton, Conn.-based New Castle Hotels and Resorts, the Algonquin’s management company. “Under Mackenzie’s leadership, The Keltic Lodge carved out a unique niche among Canadian destination resorts, and I am confident that, with his guidance, the Algonquin will fully blossom in its first full year of operation.”

Founded in 1886, and renovated in 2014, The Algonquin Resort has been ranked among Canada’s Top 10 hotels by Conde Nast Traveler and has been awarded CAA’s prestigious Four-Diamond designation.
