SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Microtel Inns & Suites by Wyndham is opening a property in Summerside, P.E.I. on the grounds of the city’s Credit Union Place (CUP).
The hotel will be built on the southwest portion of the CUP grounds and be connected by a covered breezeway into the main lobby of the facility.
“This development is the missing piece of the puzzle to continue to grow our venue’s offerings, host additional and larger signature events, grow our meetings and convention segment and support our growing sport- and event-tourism sector,” says J.P. Desrosiers, director of Community Services for the City of Summerside.
Construction is set to begin on the 100-room hotel later this fall or early spring 2020 and is scheduled to be completed in early 2021. Bedford, N.S.-based Caboteer Hospitality and Developments Inc. — an affiliate company of Crescita Hotels and Resorts LP and Pacrim Hospitality Services Inc. — will oversee construction and development.
