CALGARY — As it celebrates its 10-year anniversary, Alberta-based hotel developer MasterBUILT Hotels has received the Canada’s 50 Best-Managed Companies award.

The award recognizes privately owned and managed companies with revenues of more than $25 million for innovative, best-in-class business practices. MasterBUILT has won the award for the past seven years, becoming a Platinum member with its win this year.

“It’s an honour to be recognized again as one of Canada’s Best-Managed Companies,” says David Donaldson, president, MasterBUILT Hotels. “This award is a testament to the clear vision, capability, and dedication of our team to accomplish this recognition in such a challenging year.”

In addition to its win at the Best-Managed awards, all of the Microtel properties managed by MasterBUILT were recognized among the “Best of Microtel.” An award presented annually by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the award recognizes the brand’s top-performing hotels and their staff.

“We are extremely proud to have every one of our properties recognized for consistently delivering outstanding guest experiences and operational excellence,” says Donna Fahey, MasterBUILT’s Chief Operating Officer. “While our Microtel hotels have provided guests with unrivaled cleanliness and safety standards, we believe the real differentiator is our people and their commitment to making our guests feel like family each and every time they stay at one of our Microtel’s across Canada.”

Since its inception in 2011, MasterBUILT Hotels has developed and opened 21 hotels from the ground up, with four more currently under construction and another six starts planned in 2022 across Canada.
