BETHESDA, Md. — A Canadian-made brand has officially sprouted in the U.S. Seven months after acquiring Delta Hotels and Resorts, Marriott International introduced the full-service hotel brand to Orlando with the Delta Orlando Lake Buena Vista slated to open in December.

The 241-room property will be operated under a franchise agreement by JHM Hotels and features a resort-style swimming pool, kids’ activity room, on-site restaurant and bar. “We are thrilled to work with JHM Hotels as we continue to integrate the Delta Hotels and Resorts brand into the Marriott family,” said Paul Cahill, global brand leader, Delta Hotels and Resorts, and area VP of Operations, Canada. “We are especially excited to debut the brand in one of the country’s top resort and leisure destinations and look forward to welcoming even more guests to the Delta experience. This opening also marks the beginning of new growth opportunities for both our owners and franchisees.”

In April, the Bethesda, Md.-based company completed its acquisition of the Toronto-based hotel chain, purchasing its brand, management and franchise business for $170 million.
