CALGARY — As part of its ongoing commitment to communities, Marriott International recently partnered with La Tablée des Chefs for “The Big Stir” — a pop-up soup kitchen that served up soup to various charity organizations in Calgary.

Don Cleary, president of Marriott Hotels of Canada, and senior Marriott leadership joined more than 150 Marriott volunteers in a collaborative effort with head chefs Michael Batke from The Westin Calgary and Hussein Haji from the Calgary Marriott Downtown Calgary to bring the initiative to life.

In an interview with Global News, Haji estimated the team made approximately 1,000 litres of soup, which was distributed to five local charities: The Calgary Dream Centre, Fresh Start Calgary, The Alex Community Food Centre, The Mustard Seed and The Women’s Centre.
