TORONTO — Marriott Hotels Canada has announced organizational changes for its Lodging Development-team. Paul Loehr, who most recently led the company’s development efforts in Canada, will be transitioning to lead development for Marriott’s full-service brands in the Western United States. 

Aaron Laurie and Duncan Chiu will lead Marriott Hotels Canada’s development team going forward. Both are life-long residents of Canada who have an impressive history of leveraging their first-hand knowledge and deep expertise working in Canada’s development marketplace to the benefit of Marriott owners and franchisees.

Laurie, senior director, Lodging Development, will lead Marriott’s development efforts in Eastern Canada. Prior to joining Marriott in 2019, he held asset-management and consultant roles at Pomeroy Lodging, IFA Hotel Investments, and HVS.

Chiu, director, Lodging Development, will lead Marriott’s development efforts in Western Canada. Prior to joining Marriott in 2020, Chiu held roles at Coast Hotels, HVS, Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.
